Diane Mankowski is a high school English teacher turned librarian at Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn, IL. She’s passionate about YA Literature,  MakerSpaces, collaboration, curation, eBooks and helping teachers integrate technology and media into research projects.

She has an active partnership with one of the best independent bookstores in the country, Anderson’s Bookshop of Naperville, IL and through them has hosted nearly 30 authors in the past 10 years, including John Green, Libba Bray, Emily Lockhart, Ellen Hopkins, Brian Selznick, Lauren Oliver and more.

She believes in sharing “what works” with her colleagues and has led dozens of presentations at national and state conferences, including A.A.S.L., N.C.T.E., A.L.A.N. (Assembly on Literature for Adolescents), J.E.A. (Journalism Education Association) and I.S.L.M.A. (Illinois School Library Media Association). She recently chaired the Abe Lincoln High School Book Award.

She’s also a National Board Certified Teacher Librarian.
